WW2 - Italian Campaign Battledress - KRR/Friuli Group Liaison Officer.

1940 Patt Battledress blouse to a captain of the King's Royal Rifle Corps of the Eighth Army attached to a unit of the Italian Co-Belligerent Forces, the Friuli Group. The group advanced with the allied armies to liberate Imola, Castel San Pietro and Bologna.
Tailored 1940 Patt BD with a lined and open collar with 39/45 Star and Italian Star ribbon to breast. Red backed, blackened pips indicating captain rank surmounting blackened ' KRR ' shoulder titles. Black ' Rifles ' buttons support the shoulder straps. To one sleeve, a locally made Eighth Army shield over green ' rifles ' arm of service strip to the other another locally made badge of the Friuli Group ,again over a green arm of service strip. Approx size 10 with a very faded and difficult to decipher label to the interior. Generally good, used condition with a peppering of moth damage to armpits and sleeve reverses and heavily worn and ripped collar lining.
Interesting and uncommon.
