WW1 Canadian BWM/Vict Pair Manitoba tribute medal 78th Btn Casualty.

BWM and Victory pair with a silver Rockwood, Manitoba tribute medal to 721235 Pte.A.J.Kirby 78th Battalion Canadian Infantry KIA 30/10/1917. Pte Aubrey John Kirby, originally from Meriden in Warks enlisted in the Canadian Infantry in 1915 and was wounded and declared missing on 30/10/17, his death was assumed on the same date, he is commemorated on the Menin Gate. Medals were forwarded to his mother, still resident near Coventry, alongside a silver tribute medal presented by the Municipality of Rockwood, Manitoba which is inscribed to Kirby. Some research included but there are some 50 pieces available in the Canadian archives to be down loaded. Good overall condition with some rubbing and edge knock to BWM.
