A good example of a British WW1 No5. Mk1 Hand Grenade. Body retains approx. 45% of it's original lacquered finish with no clear markings evident. Fitted with a brass No.5 MkI base plug by D.F.Co. Derwent Foundry Co Ltd.Exeter Place, Derby., this is dated /16. Good overall condition with brass filling plug and detonator pocket. Good, original example.
