WW1 Waterways & Railways RE Identity Tag.

An unusual, workshop made, identity tag/bracelet for a member of the Waterways and Railways Royal Engineers. Using a brass trademark plate ( from a safe ? ) the reverse has carefully been engraved with the details of WR279549 Spr.W.Hodge 278 RE COY. William Hodge was originally 348675 RE before briefly serving in the Household Battalion where he served for 5 months. He returned to the RE and went to France in 1918.
