WW1 1914/15 trio, plaque and memorial scroll to S/3699 Pte.James, Albert, King Barrell 13th Btn. Rifle Brigade. Barrell was probably a casualty during 63rd Division's attack, which included 13th Bn. Rifle Brigade, against Beaucourt Trench on the Ancre on 18/11/1916. The Group includes 14/15 Star, War and Victory medals, Memorial Plaque in it's original packaging, envelope and letter and Memorial Scroll. The group also includes photographs, Daily Sketch newspaper, medal receipts and also a Princess Mary's Gift receipt which indicates Barrell was serving in December 1914. Also accompanied by an original oil painting incorporating a photograph of Barrell wearing a goatskin jerkin and 1914 Patt. webbing and finally a white metal Rifle Brigade cap badge. Barrell was originally from Bethnal Green and the group is accompanied by a small amount of research which could be expanded upon. Poignant casualty grouping.
