British WW1 No5. Mk1 Hand Grenade.

A good example of a British WW1 No5. Mk1 Hand Grenade. Body retains approx. 45% of it's original finish with a similar percentage of the filling ring evident. Marked ' E 7 ' to body behind lever and is fitted with a brass No.5 MkI base plug by Birmingham Guild Ltd, this is dated 10/16. Good overall condition with some damage internally to the detonator pocket which does not affect the operation of the spring and striker.
