Buck & Ryan Fighting Knife.

Double-edged,hand drawn, spear-pointed diamond-section blade, brass metal oval crossguard and swollen grip consisting of alternating bands of leather with brass and brass pommel. Blade stamped " Buck & Ryan Cutlers 310 Euston Rd N.W.1" with clear signs of sharpening and staining . Simple tan leather sheath with 9 brass rivets, integral frog with incised belt loop. This example is identical to item ( 8099 ) and was probably made for Buck & Ryan by Taylors of Sheffield.These knives were often seen being used by Commandos and were popular purchases for US servicemen from the large retail premises of Buck & Ryan who still trade today having moved from Euston Rd to Southampton Row.
