Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Cuff Rank Tunic.

A good early example of an officer's service dress tunic for Highland regiments. Made from a khaki barathea material by Hawkes & Co. of Piccadilly and named to a ' Major J.Scott '. The tunic follows the pattern set out by the modified regulations of 1904 with shoulder cords and false cuffs created in outline with khaki braid. In this instance the rank of Lieutenant Colonel is shown. Five brass Argyll buttons fitted to the breast above the cut-away design common to Highland regiments with collar badges over a separate letter ' M ' fitted to a collar with integral studs. Fully lined in barathea with cotton lined sleeves. In good used condition with a smattering of moth damage amounting to 20+ holes with the worst being 8mm, when displayed as per photograph these do not stand out. A good, early cuff rank bearing a ribbon for Boer War service that has research potential .
Sam Browne and glengarry for display only, not included in sale.
