WW1 French Citron Foug Mle.1916 ' Lemon ' Grenade.

The French Citron Foug modèle 1916 grenade is an evolution of the earlier 'asparagus' grenade, mainly designed to reduce the weight and improve the fragmentation properties. With it's rudimentary cast body and largely wooden percussion fuze the Mle.1916 was cheap, quick and easy to produce and was in plentiful supply. This model is in good condition with a well preserved wooden plug, percussion fuze.
