AN EARLY BAR TO THE IRON CROSS 2nd CLASS (SPANGE)

This is a nice , early version of the bar to the Iron Cross 2nd class. Awarded in the Third Reich period to those already awarded an Iron Cross in WW1, but awarded it again in WW2. An early version with shorter wings and 4 pins to the reverse. Is mounted on an original piece of the slightly thinner 'dress' iron cross ribbon. In very good condition, still has 85% of the original silver frosting over the silver plate. Some patina to the reverse. Nice award.
