Soldier's Small Book to 5827 Pte.Alfred, John Foster, Sherwood Foresters. Foster, a native of South Africa enlisted in South Africa and went on to serve in the Boer War with subsequent postings to Malta, China and Singapore. He was wounded in the leg in June 1900 at Schwartzkop and went onto be awarded the QSA with four clasps. Good original condition with numerous entries would reward further research.
