Berkshire Yeomanry/Japanese Souvenir Grouping.

Large paperwork, photographic and souvenir grouping to 14670515 Gnr.E.Hughes of 396th Field Battery 145th Regt. ( Berks Yeo ) RA. Intriguing grouping with two paybooks, release book and numerous passes, letters etc some indicating he was entitled to an MM. It would appear that Hughes was a POW being transported back from the Dutch East Indies in a hospital ship with some photographs, addresses and souvenirs from that period with a rehabilitation card from Walton Hospital, Liverpool indicating him as a SEAC POW. Also included are a number of Japanese souvenirs, a fatigue cap, naval armband, rank tab and a number of Japanese photographs. Also included is a reply to a letter from his parents indicating he was under age on enlistment, altogether an interesting grouping worthy of more research. Most items in reasonable condition with usual marking etc.
