UNTOUCHED, ALL ORIGINAL, 1st Patt. FAIRBURN-SYKES FIGHTING KNIFE

I am really happy to offer this untouched, as found, original 1st Pattern FAIRBURN SYKES commando/fighting knife. Never been in a collection before and until last week was kept in a garage in Scotland. The current owner obtained it from the town of Ballachulish in Western Scotland 40 years ago. So has been kept in private hands since the war. Nickle plated, chequered grip and crossguard. Classic 's' shaped crossguard. Blade is in excellent, original shape. Never sharpened or used! Nickle plated with the etched 'Wilkinson Sword' trademark on one side and ' The FS Fighting Knife' on the other. Both etches are 100% clear and in perfect condition. The scabbard is the correct and original 1stPattn type, with nickel bottom chape with single staple to the reverse. Brown leather body is in perfect condition. All 4 leather'sew-on' tabs are present. The brown belt frog is a little cracked with age but still perfectly supple. The top leather loop and popper are all present, but the leather has broken next to the popper (very common). Overall a fantastic example of what is now a rare and highly sort after dagger.
