WW2 Croatian Naval Legion badge.

Silvered brass and enamel pinback Croatian Naval Legion badge. This scarce award was awarded to the original 900 officers and men who formed the 'Naval Legion' a naval expeditionary force who manned an improvised fleet within the German Kriegsmarine. The Legion was absorbed into the Croat Navy on it's inception following the collapse of Italy. Veterans were awarded this badge with the words 'Croat Naval Legion' around the wreath with the date 1941 superimposed on a white enamelled anchor surmounted by the checkerboard shield of Croatia. In good condition with light wear to highpoints and slight twisting and denting of wreath , coke bottle type pin intact. A scarce award to one of the Foreign Legions of the Third Reich.
