Cased War Merit Cross 1st Class without Swords.

A nice example of this award in the original case of issue. Cross itself is nearly mint with polished highlights. Maker marked with a tiny incuse relief ' 4 ' for the maker Steinhauer & Luck. Earlier, silvered Tombac example. Case has the award printed on the lid. with some minor age scuffs and small scrapes. Interior has white silk type material on inside lid and a black flock backing for the cross.
