Early WW2 Japanese Rank Insignia.

Japanese detachable rank insignia for the Type 5 tunic. Embroidered cotton on wool with leather backing shoulder boards for the rank of Superior Private. These boards were to be used on the Type 5 tunic introduced in 1930 and to be replaced by the Type 98 but was encountered throughout the early part of the War. Good overall condition with slight mothing.
