WW2 Staffordshire Yeomanry Medal Group.

WW2 medal group to 323256 Cpl.G.R.C.Hutton Staffs Yeo. Includes 1939-45 , France & Germany Stars, Defence and War Medals and a Territorial Efficiency Medal mounted on to card for display. All medals in good condition with TEM lightly toned with some minor edge knocks.
The Staffs Yeo. had a busy War, fighting throughout the North Africa campaign as part of 8th Armoured Brigade. From Tunisia the unit came home and re-equiped with Shermans and Crusader AA MkIIIs as part of 27th Armoured Brigade. As such it was possibly the only conventional armoured unit to land on D Day on Sword Beach. Following heavy losses in Normandy it was disbanded and reformed with Sherman DDs as part of 79th Armoured where it fought in Holland and the crossing of the Rhine.
This unresearched grouping would appear to represent one of the unit's members who was present for much of it's European service.
