WW1 German Steel Handled Fighting Knife.

A good example of the small, unofficial fighting knife as carried by many WW1 German troops. 135mm single edged knife with manufacturer's marks to the ricasso, in this case the helmeted knight of WKC - Weyersburg, Kirshchbaum & Company, Solingen. Painted steel grip impressed and painted to give the appearance of horn with accompanying scabbard. Initials have been scratched into the reverse of the hanging strap. Good, overall condition with stained blade with minor edge knicks and scabbard missing the male half of the popper of the retaining strap fitting.
