Malayan Peoples' Anti-Japanese Army.

Cast brass, lugged badge for wear by members of the Malayan Peoples' Anti-Japanese Army. The MPAJA were founded around hastily trained ' left behind parties ' of British troops left after the Japanese invasion of Malaya in 1942. Eventually administered and supplied by the SOE's Force 136 the force became dominated by the Chinese Malayan Communist Party and whilst performing it's main role it went on to become the main Communist military arm in the post-war Malayan Emergency.
