THE BEST 1st PATTN. FS KNIFE I HAVE OWNED!

This has taken me 3 months to track down after being offered it in January this year. Directly from the 60 year old son of the veteran, and still wrapped in the old wall paper where it was kept in a drawer. It is my opinion that it has never been used (as it seems most 1st FS knifes were not also). All the nickel fittings are absolutely beautiful. Chequered grip, crossguard etc etc. The mid-brown leather scabbard is in un-blemished condition, a lovely colour and very supple. No marks!! Nickel lower scabbard chape has staple fixing. The two leather sew-on wings are not present on the reverse of the scabbard, and look to have never been there. Quite common. Scabbard belt loop is perfect and the leather retaining top loop is perfect too. The snap clip button is by Newey and is 100%. THE BLADE......is still covered in places with the old protective grease, but is 100% original and retains all the original plating. It has not been touched or sharpened!!! Of course the riccasso has the wonderful etched panels both sides. ' The FS Fighting knife' and 'Wilkinson sword and Co ltd'. An absolutely classic and now terribly rare fighting knife in wonderful condition.
