F-S Etched 3rd Patt F.S. Knife.

A heavily used 3rd Patt F.S. Knife which originally carried Wilkinson etches to the blade.This wartime example retains much of it's finish to the ringed grip which has a number ' 3 ' cast into the top . Some minor rubbing and wear to the highpoints . Blade has been heavily sharpened with a stone leaving only partial remains of the two etches, this type and manner of sharpening suggests service use rather than postwar gardening or misuse by a child. Typical wartime pattern sheath with both tabs but missing elastic retainer and some wear and rubbing demonstrating having been carried, but in good order . 3rd Patt knives with etches are uncommon and had this been in better order would have commanded a much higher price however, still a good example of a scarce knife that has been carried and used.
