A good example of an officer's field service cap as worn by a member of the Assam Regiment of the Indian Army .Black serge body with yellow crown and gold wire braid with black ball buttons with a light infantry device and featuring a brass Assam Regt. badge. Original Calcutta tailor's label with faint ink name ( Seaton ? ). In good, clean condition with one moth nip to curtain and some to crown. The Assam Regt was raised in 1941 and was present at Kohima and was highly regarded as a fighting unit. Uncommon.
