RARE AND VERY UNUSUAL THIRD REICH MINING OFFICIAL DRESS KEPI.

The Mining Service in the Third Reich (as in England too) were very important to the war effort. Subsequently the miners and mining officials were in high regard and had para-military importance. They had their own DRESS UNIFORM for parade purposes, and this is one of the unique dress kepi/caps they used for ceremonial occassions. Shaped like a hard 'fez' it has no peak. Is covered in a black glossy cloth, similar to a top hat, the front has the unique MINING metal badge in silver and gilt. Huge winged Imperial style eagle with gilt swastika in the middle. The cap has never been worn and is in MINT condition. The leather liner is mint as is the cream silk liner. The top of the cap has a wide golg tresse running around, which designates the rank of the wearer. There is the metal parade cockade present. These were also worn with a horse hair plume, which fittied in the same place as the cockade. The cap is complete with the original cardboard storage box, whci has obviously protected it all these years. A strange and unusual piece of headgear, whci would display extremely well.
