WW2 Royal Scots Fusiliers Grouping - Madagascar, Burma.

Paperwork and medal grouping to 3136725 Sgt. William Augustus Willmott, Royal Scots Fusiliers. Willmott enlisted in Edinburgh in 1940 and went on to serve probably with the 2nd Battalion in Madgascar in 1942 and then to Burma in 1944. Group consists of medals 39/45, Burma Stars, Defence and War medals in their original box with a London address, newspaper and money souvenirs from Madagascar, photographs, paybook , and release book and most interestingly a diary from the period of service in Burma. Entries include ' 2 Japs shot on perimeter , visited by Jap plane, attack successful on 551, night attack repulsed ' etc. Interesting grouping from two of the less well known campaigns. Would definitely reward further research. Accompanied by a quantity of related modern ephemera letters etc.
