Bird, RASC. Bird served with 377GT Company RASC operating DUKWs onto Sword Beach throughout the Normandy campaign. Group includes a Marbles & Gladstone, Michigan sheath knife in a unique leather sheath that was part of the standard tool kit as supplied with DUKWs. Two contemporary official photographs showing DUKWs loaded with supplies and then exiting Sword Beach, a picture of Bird in uniform and a selection of insignia....RASC plastic cap badge, embroidered RASC shoulder titleand printed 51st Div. sign. All items come direct from the family with a small note from Bird's son.
