WW2 Casualty Medal Grouping HMS Naiad.
Medal Grouping to Able Seaman C/JX 178861 Robert Barker of Murton County Durham who was killed in action on 11/03/42 on board HMS Naiad. HMS Naiad was a Dido-class light cruiser , built by Hawthorn Leslie and Company (Hebburn-on-Tyne, UK), with the keel being laid down on 26 August 1937. She was launched on 3 February 1939, and commissioned 24 July 1940. She was sunk by the German submarine U-565 south of Crete with 77 of her ship's company lost including A/S Barker. Medals, 39-45 Star, Africa and War Medal contained in original envelopes with ribbon, named condolence slip in original box addressed to Murton County Durham. In good, clean condition.
