Unissued 3rd Patt F.S.Knife.

Introduced from 1942 the 3rd Pattern F.S. knife was the zenith of FS knives formulating the design and method of production that is still used today. This example looks to have been unissued with even factory sharpened blade still covered in ( now dried ) storage grease. Clean crossguard and grip featuring a ' 1 ' mould mark to the top, some storage marking otherwise clean and undamaged. Scabbard in clean condition with both tabs, slightly stiff with traces of the original leather dressing. Some marking to both front and rear of scabbard where it would appear to have been stored with other 3rd pattern knives which have left their imprint. Elastic retainer still present with some elasticity.
