Group of four to 2984651 Pvt. John Lamont Spiers Penman of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders KIA 01/08/1943 and buried in Catania War Cemetry, Sicily. Grouping indicates service in Africa with the award of the 1st Army Bar to the Africa Star. Brief research, but not confirmed, that Penman might have been with the 8th Battalion who sustained casualties on 31/07 and 01/08 in the Battle of Centuripe near Catania. Group comes with named award slip in it's original box with a Falkirk address and original medal envelopes. Good overall condition.
