C1917 WW1 RFC 'DOXA' DASHBOARD WATCH.
Purchased recently with the other WW1 fob watch, this is a lovely 'flight' type WW1 watch used predominately by the Royal Flying Corps and installed into the wooden dashboard of many early aircraft. Black dial with white non- luminous numbers etc. There is a little damage to the face of the watch around the number '10' chipping did occur due to vibrations in the aircraft and the fact they were dropped quite often!! Made by DOXA with a beautiful swiss movement. Works and keep sexcellent time. Made to run for 30 hours and is numbered on the face.Reverse of case is maked with War Dept A and arrow, A is for aviation. In perfect condition these fetch a lot of money, priced accordingly with the slight damage.
