Indian Airborne wing.

WW2 Indian Airborne jump qualification wing. Embroidered and padded to produce a high relief with stylised feathers picked out with prominent thread with the parachute treated in a similar fashion. The wings embroidered directly onto a khaki wool backing and then onto a cotton backing with a brass plate and pin to secure to a uniform. This example is in used condition with a salty reverse but otherwise in excellent condition and like all of these wings slightly different from other examples.
