WW2 U.S. 11th Airborne 511 PIR patch.

Original 11th Airborne 511 Parachute Infantry Regt patch. Unique design printed onto false silk which has not been folded or cut to shape. Patch has been folded during storage which has left a crease which could probably be removed by ironing but has left a line across the design.
The 511th made one famous combat jump, the Los Banos Raid in the Philipines and were in combat against the Japanese until the end of the War.
Uncommon piece of airborne insignia.
