Boxed casualty grouping to 5049466 Cpl. George Henry Broster 2nd Bn. North Staffs Regt. Broster was most probably a casualty of Operation Diadem ( 4th Battle of Casino ' where the N.Staffs were trying to break through the Gustav Line into the Liri Valley. He was killed on 28th May 1944 and was subsequently buried in the Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio. The group of medals, contained in their box of transit with accompanying named slip include: 1939-45 Star, Africa and Italy Stars with War and Defence medals with original ribbons.
