SS Wehrpass - Sachsenhausen Guard.
SS Wehrpass to Rottenfuhrer Franz Wolf. Born in Potsdam in 1903 Wolf began his military service with a Landeschutz battalion before moving to a transport unit serving on the Home Front and in Poland in the period from 1941-42. In September 1944 he became a member of the 2nd SS Totenkopf Wachtbattalion at Sachsenhausen receiving a new rank of Rottenfuhrer at the same time. Moving to the 1st Company later that year he attended an Abwehr sabotage course as a member of the SS Guard unit. Interestingly the Wehrpass bears Russian notations to front cover and inner page ( name and a number in Russian ) indicating Wolf was captured. In good, clean condition, uncommon souvenir of a dark part of Third Reich history.
