WW2 Polish 1st Armoured Division Photograph grouping.
A group of photographs and cards that give an indication of a not untypical experience of a WW2 Polish soldier. Close examination of the images indicate that this unit is the 10th Dragoon Regt of the 1st Polish Armoured Division. Formed in 1942 and trained extensively in Scotland as motorised infantry they went on to land in Normandy in July 1944 fighting throughout Europe until disbanding in England in 1947.
The images show training images in Scotland some annotated with one image of Lisbon indicating the route many Poles took after the collapse of France. Postcards of Scotland, passport style images and girlfriends complete this house clearance grouping.
