Wrist compass - R.M.Commando interest.

Brass compass mounted on to a wrist strap. Possibly WW1 in origin and manufactured by Hill & Son of Haymarket, London producers of quality sporting and exploring products. Inscribed to the leather is an indistinct inscription ' CHX 100241 SGT T.Smith Royal Marine Commando ' ( This is my best interpretation of the inscription ). In good, used condition with opening stud now missing.
