WW1 British No 5 Mark I tail pistol.

1918 British No 5 Mark I tail pistol for use with air-dropped general purpose bombs of sizes between 50lb and 550lb. ' A brass body bearing external screw threads at half way down as well as on the lower thinner portion of the body. These reads would secure the pistol within the bomb's fuze pocket and the relay / exploder within. A two bladed arming vane with dust cap is screwed onto the pistol's striker which is positioned at the top of the main brass body. A pin passes through the body and the striker '. Marked ' W.R. No.5 MkI 1918 ' with a stamped inspection mark.
