WW1 Memorial Plaque: Franklin - West Yorks.

WW1 Memorial plaque in its original official envelope and card packing to 201882 Pte.Isaac Franklin 2/5th Bn. West Yorkshire Regt. Franklin was killed on 03/05/1917 one of the thousands of British casualties on the opening day of the Battle of Arras. the 2/5th West Yorks were part of 187 Bde., 62 Div. and were charged with attacking the Hindenburg line at Bullecourt. The attack quickly became disorganised and failed to make headway sustaining a large number of casualties and withdrew from the line by the 04/05. Franklin is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. The plaque is in excellent condition.
