A good example of the 2nd pattern Fleet Air Arm Zip ear C-type flying helmet, as used by Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm aircrew. The leather of the helmet retains its deep brown colour, and is still soft and supple. The helmet is wired with internal loom and comes with full length wire and jack plug. Chinstrap missing. Zips to both earphone covers run freely to reveal the foam pads which are little crumbly to the surface but intact and pliable. Probably a size 2/3 the internal markings are a little hard to make out with a penned name ' D.J.Stephenson ' to the earpiece. Interior lightly grubby from use but with no damage. All straps and fastenings present and undamaged with minor rubbing and the odd very minor knick to the helmet.
