Original Wehrmacht dog tag to 1/Strass.Bau.Batl.540. This tag was issued to a member of the 1. Kompanie Road Construction Bataillon 540. This unit was very active on the Eastern Front including Stalingrad and was co-opted to all manner of field work construction alongside roads. Good, used condition with a small area of corrosion indicating that it has been excavated previously.
