Magnificent Royal Fusiliers Officers early Victorian shoulder belt plate. Of a pattern worn before 1855 with a two-piece rococo plate decorated with acanthus and laurel sprays, central crowned gilt rose, scrolling pierced gilt garter ' Y ' ' PE ' then ' H ' all on a blued ground, the whole on a stippled gilt ground. Unfortunately this example has lost it's original enamel with ribbon now taking it's place and priced at a far more conservative level considering other examples were pitched at £2-2500. A highly attractive plate.
