Imperial 1898 First pattern S98aA Quill Point Bayonet

Acquired along with item 10820 directly from the family with whom it has resided for the last 100+ years this is an untouched souvenir. First pattern S98aA manufactured in Erfurt in 1901 with matching Baden unit markings to bayonet and scabbard ( 112.R.10.157 ) and various fraktur inspection markings to blade and hilt. Working catch with a blade that shows clear signs of being sharpened. Good, honest, untouched souvenir that will benefit from some sympathetic cleaning, or not !
