A particularly good condition British, WWII, No.36M MkI Hand Grenade. Features approx. 95%+ of the original brown lacquer with filling rings and stencilled inspection marks. Manufacturer marking ' M ' to body, indicating manufacture by Maxwells Ltd.
St Marys, Ontario, Canada, this is matched by similar marking to lever.1943 dated base plug marked ' S ' indicating manufacture by Schultz Die casting Co. Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada. This manufacturer was responsible for the manufacture of the core. All parts present with filling ring clear and present as well as the red oxide type sealant to the filling plug. An excellent example.
