A GOOD EXAMPLE OF A THIRD REICH POLICE SHAKO - COMPLETE.

A great display item and you get a lot for your money! This is the standard SHAKO worn by most police men durning the Third Reich period in Germany. They were trimmed in with black (city/town) police or brown (rural/country police. This is the more commonly found city place version with black peak, top and chin strap. They are all made of a pressed fibre material and then covered with a thin green wool cloth. Aluminium large police eagle badge to front with aluminium cockade above. Black leather chin strap with aluminium buckles. Interior has an integral leather liner with tongues and adjustable drawstring. A few of the leather tongues have been lost to time, age/wear but the sweatband etc is all intact. Inside crown is marked with size 55. A good looking piece of head wear.
