1938 Dated British Army MKII Steel Helmet.
A very much in ' fresh from the shed ' example, a 1938 dated British Army MKII steel helmet. Early production indicated by the clear date, manufacturer's details and steel batch code stamped to underside rim. This would indicate manufacture by Harrison Bros & Howson of Sheffield. The MkI liner is not marked other than for a size 6 3/4 with the MkII strap retainers both being 1938 dated. This example is uncleaned and in ' as found ' condition complete with cobwebs etc ! There are areas of original paint visible beneath the corrosion and dirt build up. The liner is a little crispy but intact complete with all buffers. Increasingly difficult to find these early examples and priced to reflect condition.
