RAF O.B.E. & WW1 Pair.
Recently deceased estate acquired medal group to an RAF Group Captain who was appointed Air Commodore on retirement. Group Captain W.Bourne appears to have had a colourful pre-war career including service in Russia, according to an accompanying copied 1975 paper obituary. Grouping consists of a WW1 War & Victory pair named to ' Lieut.W.Bourne. R.A.F. ' with a cased O.B.E. ( Mily ). It is not known what other medal entitlement is due to Bourne ( mention of the Russian Order of St.Stanislas ) the three awards and accompanying newspaper excerpt being the only items available from the estate. Comes with a small amount of research indicating the award of the O.B.E. in the 1937 Coronation Honours and Bourne's retirement and re-employent in 1942 as Wing Commander.
O.B.E. heavily toned, WW1 pair appear to be unpolished worthy of more research.
