WW1 German Women's Red Cross VFW Painted Sign

Original, hand-painted WW1 German Women's Red Cross Society sign. Measuring 49cms x 42cms, framed in oak this is a two dimensional representation of the War Service badge of the VFW ( Vaterländischer Frauen Verein ) with the central Red Cross made from painted leather surrounded by hobnails complimented by a proficiently painted Iron Cross with oak leaf garland on oak planks The area scroll is now difficult to make out with some areas of wear and light corrosion to hobnails. Impressive piece of original Imperial WW1 art.
