Scarce stickpin ( 56mm ) for the Volkssozialistische Selbsthilfe or People's Socialist Self-Help. Originally a socio-political project of the Palatinate Gauleiter, Josef Bürckel initiated in the summer of 1933. The People's Socialist Self-Help obligated every Palatine resident to donate a fixed monthly sum of money for state measures on the labor market, in housing construction, for the needy, etc. It was finally wound up in 1935 after its incorporation into the Office for People's Welfare. Antiqued silver finish, manufacturer marked ' F.M.K. ' for F.Mannheim from Kaiserslautern. Good, clean condition.
