RCAF Flying Logbook for Aircrew casualty.
RCAF Logbook for Sgt A.W.Snowden, Air Gunner with 578 Squadron killed on a raid to Berlin on 19/02/44 aged 20.
1601000-Snowden A.W.Sgt. qualified as an air gunner on 24/3/43 with logbook starting 17/1/43. Various training flights then to C Flight 102 Sqn beginning with ops to Hamburg, Essen, Leverkusen, Nuremburg, Munchen Gladbach and Berlin. Moved to B Flight with an op to Modane - \' crashed \'. Moved to 51 Sqn with further ops to Frankfurt and Berlin and then to 578 Sqn in Feb 1944 with ops to Berlin and final op to Leipzig which is the final entry. The log book is then stamped death presumed.
F/Sgt. Arthur William Snowden RAFVR was from Beaconsfield, Bucks and died on 24/3/44 when his Halifax III LW508 LK-Y was shot down by a night fighter on it\'s return from Berlin. He is commemorated in the Hanover War Cemetery.
The log book is in excellent condition and contains all relevant stamps and certifications, accompanied by a small amount of research.
