British Bayonet No.7,MkI (Land).
This bayonet was an attempt to develop a knife bayonet for the No.4 Rifle. Marrying a blade from the Bayonet No.5 with a swivelling socket resulted in the Bayonet No.7, but only the Guards and a few other selected units ever received it.
This example in excellent condition with undamaged tufnell grips, operational swivel socket (markings obscured by contemporary paint) and clean blade marked \\\'No7 Mk1/L\' and possibly Poole .Scabbard in good condition and is marked S294 for Wilkinson, London.
Excellent example.
